I have found I can eat the leafy stuff if I am not having a flare-up and I don't eat it every single day. Others have had different experiences.

There aren't many of us with ulcerative colitis on the board and I just happened to see your post today. You might want to try resources that deal specifically with IBD for better assistance. Try this: Crohn's & Colitis

I'm going nuts with UC! I'm on indefinite leave from work, and it's more than 3 months now. Medication is costly. Flares came after a month on remission.

What grinds me so bad is taking PREDNISONE, side effect drives me crazy. My pulse rate hit 115 per min. Water retention on face is abominable!

Do anyone here experience insomnia?

I'm not sure if I'm lucky enough in not having pain/cramps in my tummy, but growling to bowel urge is frequent.

I have not read about LOOSE STOOL on this thread (it's general symptom). Just mentioning.

Is it not ok to fast?

Humira is used off-label for UC. My daughter has had success on it. Far fewer side-effects.
