I usually take an hour or two nap on the weekends if there is nothing going on... usually around 3pm or so with the PGA on TV... I shut all the shades to make it as dark as I can but for the television and stretch out on the couch. To me, this is another one of the free pleasures of life and I was wondering who else takes them. From what I've read, they are very healthy too. I'm 46, male, with a fast moving retail job during the weekdays. If you don't mind stating your age and gender please do. I'm wondering what category of people indulge the most, and, if I fall into that category.

I take one everyday on my lunch break--usually about 40-45 minutes, and especially on sunday afternoon if possible. I drive my truck under a shade tree, roll down the windows, set the alarm on my phone. Male-33, kinda like a power nap I guess.

I am 52, female and indulge in brief naps (15 minutes, maybe half an hour) whenever I can, daily if possible. I'll nap anywhere between noon and 2, no later, though--I won't nap past that time.
I've been napping since I was in my 20's.
Funny, I hated taking naps when I was a kid.

I think it's one of those things your body really gets used to doing! I usually take a nap somewhere between 1:30 - 3:30 for a few minutes. Like Town&Country, I shut the blinds and hit the couch! Usually turn on the weather channel and read a few pages before closing my eyes. 59 W/F.....

my body REQUIRES it. Most times if I dont come home and take a quick nap...I end up having to go to bed very early, then when my alarm goes off at 629, if I haven't gotten enough sleep per my body, I can't wake up. The alarm will just be going off like crazy, and I wake up when body tells me to, or when one of the kids says Mommy are you ever gonna get up?!?!?

I'm 30/F and I can't stand naps! I always feel groggy and ill after I wake up.

I'm 18, female, and I could really need naps at school. Many times (read: almost daily) we get so much homework and tests to prepare for, that we need to stay up until around 1 am. And then one has to get up at 6 am again.
I no longer can count the times when I've fallen asleep during class when we've been assigned to watch a film or read in our books...

Your schedule sounds like mine when I was in my 20's, party, work, work, party

The concensus looks pretty diverse so far. I remember reading somewheres that Winston Churchhill took daily naps.

I always want to take a nap around 3 pm. I wish I could take naps but I'm usually at work or in class. If I am at home, I like to lay down on the living room floor and sleep for 5-15 minutes. If I sleep longer than that I am too groggy and it takes me a long time to wake up. So I intentionally go somewhere it is not too comfortable. Unless I know I will be out late, then I go to bed and set the alarm. 54-F

I take naps as well but since I am home, I tend to go sleep in my bed (better for my back). Even tho I get a full 7-8 hours at night, naps help me stay focused thru the entire day.

Power naps should not cause grogginess.

52/almost 53 F
