There's a Smiths song playing on the radio in my vanpool van right now. Hearing it makes me feel so old. My gosh, that song came out like 30 years ago. Back then listening to it made me feel young.

I was born in 1980, and the best thing I remember about the 80's was the music.

I was glued to my radio/boombox and always making tapes (which went on over the years of course)..

Music & television were so cool in the 80's. Even the clothes! And the silly fads! Cheap fads, too! You didn't need a million dollars to be "cool" back then!

It was ridiculous but so much fun...

I was just thinking:

1980 - David Lee Roth
2010 - Justin Bieber

Give me 1980 any time!

I see FAR more correlation between the '20s and '60s (both countercultural decades) than between either and the '80s (not a countercultural decade).

The 1980 equivalent of Justin Bieber was Leif Garrett, not Diamond Dave.

Had to laugh about the hair spray, ok yes i had big long hair back then, have long hair real long now to, but it is not so buffuned know what i mean. Life was a bit easier, but less expensive, Gas, utilities, homes, just living in general. But there was drugs back then, and still is, crime back then and oh the crime today, girls got pregnant at an early age, today even earlier. People sometimes don't learn from past mistakes, the mistakes as time go's on only get bigger. But oh the music, i love music from the 80's, rock and roll foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
