Don't take this wrong, however, it goes to show the ignorance of the US population. When the news story broke, it was on CNN too. MOST people had no clue and/or never even heard of him.

The article says that the remains were identified as Kelly's by a DNA comparison with a male descendent of Kelly's sister.

Perhaps someone who is familiar with these tests can explain this. I would think that this descendent would have the Y DNA of his non-Kelly male ancestors, and not that of the male Kellys.

Can someone explain what test they might have used?
