Can you add a choice for "both"?
Because without either one victory would not have been possible. Your question is like asking "who won the game" in a soccer match.

Also the United States and the Soviet Union were not the only combatants, even though they together contributed the lion's share of the effort. But Britain's role as an unsinkable aircraft carrier in Germany's backyard was pivotal. Also, even the resistance of small nations like Greece and Yugoslavia played a role in delaying the launch of Barbarossa.

The commies did. US didn't win this country has gone down hill ever since the end of ww2. We should have teamed with Germany and taken out the communists.

Both would be too simple. Lion's share is what counts cause that's what brought the victory.

Given the choice of Russia or the US it was the Russians who killed so many German soldiers but it was the planning and material from the US that was the coup de gras.

Damn, I wish Soviets in the poll were red instead of blue, it would make a stronger case.

One thing alot of people forget is the US had to supply its armies and some allied armies all over the world. The US was not fighting in its back yard as in the USSR. The US had to ship all the supplies including bottled water to its troops in the Pacific , South Pacific , Europe , Italy , China and anywher else their forces were fighting. They had the greatest military supply system in the history of the world. Thats one reason the US navy had 3.4 million men in uniform in 1945 when no other Navy in the world had even 1 million men. Plus they had to ship the troops all over the world. Heck half of the 6 million men in the army ground forces were service forces who kept all the supplies coming for the other 3 million combat troops. It was a huge unreal feat. Ron
