Very powerful photos.

Many of these make any conversation that begins with, "Here's what I did today," seem rather insignificant.

I read up on this animal trainer fellow Captain Jack Bonavita . He had his arm aputated after a lion known to be
especially vicious bit his hand all up and it got infected and the drs had to remove his arm . In 1917 while training a polar bear , the bear turned around and attacked him , he died from his wounds . An assistant trainer ran 3 blocks to get a policeman and when they returned shot the polar bear dead . He was also married to a member of russian royalty .

These pictures were taken by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim author of Das Boot (from which the movie was based) on U-96's 7th war patrol.

1920 Attack and Bombing of Wall Street. The blast killed 38 and seriously injured 143. The bombing was never solved, although investigators and historians believe the Wall Street bombing was carried out by Galleanists (Italian anarchists), a group responsible for a series of bombings the previous year. The attack was related to postwar social unrest, labor struggles and anti-capitalist agitation in the United States.
The Wall Street bomb caused more fatalities than the 1910 bombing of the Los Angeles Times, which was the deadliest act of terrorism on U.S. soil up to that point. The death toll was exceeded in the Bath School Disaster in 1927. (Wikipedia)
