I read about him years ago. Apparently, he did not seek the limelight for his deeds.

Read/heard about this years ago and Mr. Sugihara was truly one of those great human beings that stand up during horrible times and do the right thing.

Good man. Indeed, he appears to have saved these Jews due to moral conviction rather than due to a desire for fame. Of course, he certainly ended up getting fame for doing this in spite of his own wishes and desires.
