Were black slaves only prevalent in Brazil, SE USA, and Caribbean?

Countries like Mexico, Central America, of South America except Brazil do not have large african populations. They must have had plenty of indio slaves, but how that many indio survive the germs?

Were black slaves brought to Europe in large numbers? Alexander Pushkin's ancestor was a black slave once

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abram_Petrovich_Gannibal

Alexandre Dumas also had a mulatto ancestor.

But I dont think they were in Europe in large numbers.

Not in Europe, but in the Arabic countries they were.

Ask yourself, what would the African slaves do in Europe?

Well Portugal, Spain, Netherlands and England had black people living there during colonial times, and among them might have been slaves, but I think they were mostly servants.

The ancient Romans had black slaves.

Slaves were prevalent and widely used in all of the America's - North and South, including Carribean and Central America.
The only difference being that Central and South America European colonists used Indian slaves at first, but they died in droves and so they started importing African slaves. Second difference is the amount of intermixing the Spanish colonist did with African and Indians (topic of a recent thread in fact).

Slaves obviously were used where there was a demand for hard manual labor - for example agriculture or mining, and lack of manpower. There was not much demand in Europe or lack of manpower, and slavery was hidden under another name utilizing there own citizens - "indentured servitude", or for those countries still operating under a feudal system (Russia for example) - "serfdom".

The records account for about 400,000 slaves in Portugal from the mid 1400's on over a period of approximately four centuries, and they were not all black. Although slavery was abolished on mainland Portugal in 1761 it wasn't abolished in the African colonies officially until 1869. Also when Brazil became independent in 1822 some individuals that repatriated to Portugal from Brazil were allowed by the Monarchy to bring black slaves from Brazil. The institution was promoted and defended by both the Monarchy and members of the church hierarchy.(Both rotten to the core).

Slavery in Brazil wasn't abolished until 1888. Yes, slave trade to Brazil was prohibited in 1831, and that was because of British pressure.

Meanwhile among the brutal vikings in Norway slavery was abolished in 1274 in Norway, and in 1335 in Sweden (Finland) prohibiting also indentured servitude.

They were also prevalent in Africa but people aren't supposed to talk about that.

The prevalence and history of slavery in Brazil is well known by those that have an interest on the topic, yeah the facts you stated are true. One fact not well known was that Angola for all intensive purposes functioned as a colony of Brazil(which itself was a colony) with Brazilian colonial slavers reaping a large portion of the profit.

I don't quite understand why you connected the first and second sentence in the same post. It's like your saying NEANER NEANER we abolished slavery sooner. Do you want a prize for a decision someone made in 1335?(I don't get it) Perhaps I misunderstood your point.
