Motion, I watched both parts of the video. After pondering it for a couple of days, I have come to the conclusion that I still don't know anymore about the ancient Egyptians that I did before watching the video. But at least I know the experts don't know either, and that's some comfort, I guess. LOL

Even the ancient Egyptians forgot things about their own civilization.

At funerals, there were what was called Muu Dancers-we have no idea what they were for, and neither did the Egyptians, no record of their significance remains.

Only images of their dance.

So I may not be as smart as a fifth grader, but I am at least as smart as a pharoah, eh? LOL

A new hit song, "Do the Muu!"

Seems a bit is known, after all.

Some Muu were necropolis guards-others were minor, ceremonial officials who bid entry into the necropolis for funerals.

But it seems the third kind, the ones who boogied down at the tomb, may have represented boatmen who would ferry the soul to the afterlife.

Everything is on the net, these days.

I learned somethings especially from Zhai Hawass' part. I now have a better understanding of the Egyptian use of symbolic color in relation to their pharoahs. Many may assume a particular pharoah was Black because of them being painted Black but you have to distinguish if the coloring is literal or symbolic.

There was at least one Nubian dynasty.

Many Nubians were hostage to the Pharoah's court, where they were rather pampered, and grew up to be more Egyptian than Egyptians.

Nubia(gold was Nub in the Pharonic language)a very important source of bullion to Egypt, so they wanted to keep close ties.
