"Salt and Pepper" - Vietnam War deserters

I know we are bound to have a few Vietnam era vets here so I figured I would bring this up, I recently saw a thread about them over on the Armchair General forums and I have become intrigued in this mystery. Unfortunatly I have not been able to find much online (or anywhere for that matter) except for the thread on Armchair General and a few articles over at MIAFacts.org

Does anyone know anything about the 2 deserters, were they ever apprehended and charged? Anyone personally encounter them?
