Was wondering if someone familiar with last names answer a question. Is the last name Steinfeldt Jewish? The family comes from Northern Germany so not quite sure if it's a German name or Jewish name (one or the other because of spelling or both). Could someone well-versed on ancestry answer this?

I answered this on another post.I'd say it's either German or Austrian and probably not Jewish.Check on Ancestry.com or Jewishgen
