Has anyone watched this series.."Warriors" ? I watched the episode on Attila and found it strange that the actor who played him had a definate Scotts accent!! I thought I was watching Braveheart !! It was billed as a "Drama"...a little too 'dramatic' for me. And the one on Richard was awful!!! I could not believe the mistakes..Any thoughts??

Yeah I know what you mean
Because it's become a trend among epic makers to imitate what Mel Gibson did with Braveheart.
The Scot-type accent of English.
A great example would be the movie "Alexander". Closely listening to Angelina Jolie's accent, it bears a striking resemblance to Will Wallace and it's so funny. She says, "Yore soul iiis miine Alexaaandhar"
I think it's incorrect for film makers to do that. We can exempt Braveheart and Rob Roy for they are movies about Scotsmen.
The actor is a Scotchman, how is he supposed to talk? Should only people with bland central United States accents be given work as actors?
I'd imagine the guy's accent is unremarkable to another Scotchman.
By the way, the actor, Rory McCann, played Craterus in Stone's Alexander picture.
He was portraying Attila...he should have spoke with a Hunnish accent
Many actors no matter what their nationalities speak with an accent appropriate to the role they are playing... We are not talking Shakespear hear,I realize.

Or History International channel's ''Rome Rise and Fall of an Empire'' about the Goths sacking of Rome where all the Romans including Alaric I (Goth king) had an english accent had me rolling my eyes although i did enjoy the show .
Well, I was being facetious about Attila and the Scotts accent
Another very good show has been "Battles BC" The one on the Gaulish War was excellent...I learned alot I did not know about that time...Got to get "caught up" on that era now
