Some photos of the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. A perfect example of the art of 18th Century fortification with 4 bastions, a ravelin and a splendid glacis and covered way.

Well obviously that first photo is an Altec A7-500, not a fort. But it's too hard to start over.

Here's the ditch, scarp and ravelin (on the left) of the castillo in St. Augustine

My oldest son lives in St. Augustine. It is such a great town full of history.
