I like to think of it as documentary of Australian culture.

I'm confused... So people in the outback DO or DO NOT blast around in sweet muscle cars while wearing bare ass-chaps and black spray painted footbal pads... shooting at each other and eating dog food out of cans?

"It is a strikingly accurate portrayal of the war between the Royal Navy and Germany's U Boats from the viewpoint of the British naval officers and seamen who served in escort vessels during WWII" and most importantly,
"No concessions were made to the American audience" and the book rightfully acknowledges Australian contribution to saving Britain .
Speaking of which what's with the cheesey leather armor and helmets you see in things like "Troy" and that HBO series "Rome"? Multi million dollar budgets and they can't afford to put the actors in bronze and iron? Why any weekend legionary or hoplite reenactor has much better kit than you see in the movies.
In "Troy" when Hector killed Menalaus I just about barfed my popcorn.
Maybe one of the worst movies ever as far as historical accuracy. Not counting any movie made by Errol Flynn.
Or Matthew McConaughey (U-571 anyone?) Okay, let's not get into a whole argument about that movie, I just brought it up as an example. At least Flynn was Tasmanian and therefore practically British by proxy
Has anyone mentioned Gettysburg yet? That was very good!
