Mongols have occuped Russia, but they did not impose their language nor their culture. So, I guess it would'nt be different with holy roman empire or Poland.

Wouldn't have mattered to much in the long run. Their empire was stretched to the limit as it was and going further west would have made their overall influence even weaker. I bet there would be 10 or 20 mongols in each European country as a Governor...Thats how stretched thin they were.

Russia was dominated by Mongols for a period spanning several hundred years, and besides some of the Russian names being borrowed from the Mongols, its hard to tell. Even Orthodox Christianity survived with out a scratch from them.

A poster said the mongols would have assimilated into Europe, I think that would be the case and not the other way around.

I agree with you on everything except I think that the invasion would have set Europe back a long time. Look what they did to the Middle East. My theory is that the Mongol Destruction of Eastern Europe and the Middle East Particurelly is what permitted Western Europe to get so much ahead of the competition. Just like the US after World War 2.
