I make music. I always have, it seems, in one fashion or other. It is just in my heart and soul and mind. I used to pursue other interests...photography, painting, writing...but as I've gotten older and busier I felt I had to winnow down my hobbies and for me, being a musician is more of a calling while my other interests were less meaningful for me.
Fortunately, I have a wife who is also a musician and she is very encouraging and supportive of me. I do not spend much money on this...I have all the instruments I need as well as all the studio gear. Much of it is meager and somewhat archaic, but it works for me. I know people who have spent more money on one guitar than I have invested in everything I have to make music with, not that there's anything wrong with that.
