Anyone else keep snakes? I keep ball pythons mostly. I also have two corn snakes and a colombian red tail boa. I breed the ball pythons and eventually will breed the corn snakes and boa.

So what do you keep?

I don't keep snakes but my Brother does, he has snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs. I grew up with them so I'm used to them and don't fear them, they actually fascinate me.

I have a spider ball, a pastel and a normal. I also have luecistic texas rat snakes, a california kingsnake and a tiawan beauty. Photos in my album. I'm not breeding anything at the moment. Not enough time to care for babies.

I have a full grown Honduran Milksnake. He is a good buddy. A juvenile Honduran Black Milksnake will be joining him soon.

I don't have any right now, but in the past I've had a red tail boa, ball python, cal-king, corn snake, bearded dragons, a couple snakes I found in the back yard (grass snake & ring neck, IIRC) and a tarantula (not a reptile, I know, but lumped in the same pet industry category).

On my potential future pet list: Another cal-king, maybe a monitor.

Every Rattlesnake I find over 2 feet long becomes dinner for me. That's about the only way I collect them. I also trade the skins to people I know for crafts.

I grew up with reptiles. I used to raise speckled kings and loved every minute of it. Over the years, i bet I have owned/raised at least 100 snakes. It is sad just how misunderstood snakes are in general. I knew a woman who was a herpetologist and had a 28 foot reticulated python and about every kinf of creepy crawlie insect and snake you can imagine.
One of the coolest pets i have ever owned was my two beautiful green iguanas. My male reached 5.5 feet in length, was litter box trained and lived freely in our house. They are far more intelligent than people think, though the litter box training was more habit over intelligence.

I would never have a snake for a pet. Too freaky for me. But, I want to ask, of all the snakes to have why do you want pythons and boas? There are a lot of rattlesnakes where I live, but I just want them dead.

Iguana would be cool though.
