My hometown AHL team is moving out of Downtown Charlotte to the old rinky-dink Bojangles Coliseum. Ugh, words cannot describe how much I hate this move. And yet most everyone is excited about it. Go figure.

Pardon the ignorance, but isn't that where the Canes play? Or are they in RD?
The OKC Barons are folding after this season. They continually averaged in the bottom 5 in attendance and played in the convention center across the street from the OKC Thunder. This is after Edmonton reaffirmed their commitment to OKC at the beginning of the season.
Rumors are that the AHL wants a Pacific/West Coast division and this is a team that had to go to get that formed. I hadn't heard that but I don't track AHL rumors as the NHL ones are too good right now.

The Canes are in Raleigh. The Checkers are the Canes AHL team. Although with them moving back to the small cramped 60 year old building they started in they may not be in the AHL for long.

Sad. My year in Stillwater, I came down to watch 5 or 6 Blazer games. Had a good time and stayed over in Bricktown. But I guess with the Thunder in town, that disposable money is gone and so are the prime Friday and Saturday night home games.
I think the Winter Classic will be the least viewed.
Home team should be north of I-90. Sure lots of teams south want it but only a few can pull it off. The SoCal market is one. Maybe Dallas, probably Denver.
Let an O-6 team host unless its a northern team. Why not Winnipeg?
Spengler Cup final was pretty dull. Nevertheless I would love to see more European hockey broadcast year round, or at least in the sports highlights. Many of these players are North American/ex-NHL or future NHLers. The atmosphere of the games seems a little more agreeable, too.
The winter classic was a good one this year. What an ending.
