Happy hockey day, everyone. Hope you had a chance to participate in some of the local festivities in your area. Hadn't seen any mention here yet, wondering if you have heard that the Cold War is back on between U-M and MSU?

MSU holds the current record for attendence of an outdoor hockey game with 74,000+ at a game in 2001. That record may be shattered next month when Wisconsin hosts U-M. To date they are claiming to have sold 74,000+ tickets and expect ticket sales to approach the 85,000 mark.

Given that The Big House seats 108,000+ visitors, when they host The Big Chill (wonder who thought that movie reference up? lol) on December 11, there is every possiblity that they will hold the world record for attendence at an outdoor hockey game for a long time to come.

I watched it on the NHL network, they did a nice job. Then went to a local Canadian themed bar and had some Molsons and Crown.

It was awesome, except for that guy from Glass Tiger who sang that awful "Canada's Song"
otherwise it was a great celebration of hockey
