just do the same subway tile as to keep it uniform, I would think....
If you're not going to paint the remaining wall, I agree with nightcrawler. I like glass mosaics myself, but adding an additional tile style to such a tiny bathroom will be too busy. Including the floor tile, you already have four different types there.
I am thinking it should be painted as to keep it solid since the glass tile is busy as is subway. If it were mine, i would do a shade of one of the tiles that you like best. it would be better for us if we could see another picture to get the full impact of the room.....
im not going to paint it, its gotta be tiled. its not drywall its the blue backerboard which is textured and also the seams are not smooth to be painted. i was really just hoping to save some work, laying and grouting all those subway tiles is a real pain, thats why i was thinking of using something bigger

Very few bathrooms are tiled to the ceiling. By leaving some wall available for painting, it allows future homeowners an opportunity to change the look of the bathroom.
Bigger tile on top will look terrible. Everything will be off balance. Plus, it's already very busy looking. Adding a third tile size will make it more busy.
Sorry that it's a pain. $hit happens.
