It looks like OP came in here to vent and left without really seeking our opinion
OR, he thought he was coming to an interior design/decorating forum, not a meeting of the Dr. Phil Association for Practicing Armchair "Psycho"-logists.
Then again, I doubt the sanity of anyone seeking wisdom from a group of random strangers with "trust me" credentials, blogging in their underwear. Come on - you know you do it!
Huh??? He came to seek our opinion. What " blogging in the underwear" has to do with someones opinion? Do you believe that blogging with suit and tie would result smarter, better posts??

Elina, that was meant to be read that with a sense of humor.
The clue is in her doing it while he wasn't home. That indicates that he operates more as a dictator who has the final say in everything. She wouldn't have done this behind his back if she felt they were equal partners.
Not necessarily so. Some husbands couldn't care less about decorating/painting.....I'm married to one of those. He would not be offended if I painted the walls (he would probably be happy in fact) yet we are respectful of one another's opinions in areas where we have an opinion. I certainly would not make the assumption that the OP was a dictator.
personally i LIKE the blue and the grey and the white, BUT i dont like the grey and white as stripeys...
what i would do is whatever shene the grey paint is, retape, get however much paint you need in the same color BUT the next sheen up or down (ie if eggshell go satin or flat) and paint the white in that, itll keep the stripe effect but in a MUCH more subtle damask feel rather than that bold shock factor of white.
then all trim mantel ect goes that crisp bright white.
but thats just my feel.
I personaly plan on doing a damask type effect in my bedroom
It's not too bad. It looks professionally done too. The bold blue is nice, but the ligter pastel striped walls would look better w/ a lighter/paler solid color wall. I guess they wanted one bold wall & the rest complementary, yet not as profond.
