Very pretty! I do love chandeliers. There's one kind of like that at Ballard Designs but not as nice of a line in my opinion. Was that an original to the house fixture?

Yes, southbel. It was the original light from 1930. It was a great house. No frills but solid built and lovely coved ceilings, built-in cabinets and glass door knobs.

You're not as jealous as I am disappointed I let that house go. Hindsight is 20/20. I'd love to have that old house back now.

I've decided hindsight is evil! I've had it too. As I remodel my current money pit, I keep wishing for my old house. - okay swear I'll get back on topic now!

I can see everyone's pictures but yours, Kathryn.

Darn shame because I like your decorating. I'd love to see your lamps.

Try clearing your cookies (so maybe you can see what we're not seeing).

Maybe we'll have a chance to see them if you repost them in a new post.

That is a student's lamp from a library. Fortunately it wasn't ruined by someone trying to electrify it..... usually they drill a hole right through the oil reservoir to route the wires, essentially destroying its value.
I also like Schoenbek, Stiffel (may they RIP, after being sold) and Waterford lamps.

This is crazy - I cleared my cookies and history and still see the pictures of my lamps, but I'll repost them:

German lamp from around 1910. This is the one with the ridiculously expensive shade!

I blinged this one with some trim:

I've had this lamp since I was a little girl - so it's practically an antique - LOL!

I bought two of these for my vanity, at the Dollar Store for $10 each - I think they're beautiful!

Cheap lamp from Target - blinged with Mardi Gras beads!

Little bitty Dollar Store lamp, also blinged!

One of my favorite lamps - I added the trim, which cost more than the lamp did!

I love these lamps on my buffet - the shades are some sort of glowy twine. Now, these were not particularly "cheap" like most of my lamps!

I love this lamp on my mantel - I added the beads, of course!

I bought two of these for my living room - LOVE LOVE LOVE. These are the ones that I bought new shades for recently. You can't really tell it in the picture, but the shades have a glimmery gold to them, and the bases are sort of stained glass and light up as well. They look great on my stained glass tables from Pier 1 (my drug of choice).

I guess it's my New Orleans heritage coming out - if something's got glitter or beads or shimmer to it, I can't resist it!

are they pictures hosted via a facebook account with privacy restrictions? If so, you would be able to see them but no one else on here would.
