So I've posted on here about a few other projects my wife and I have done or are working on. I figured I would take a little bit of time to post about a project that we are basically "done" with now and are very excited about. I use quotation marks there because we still do want to demo the drywall encasing the stairway and put in a nice modern handrail instead to open the space up but that might not get done for awhile so we'll take 95% done for now
Anyway, this is what the living room looked like when we toured the house:
We hated it but we saw potential.
Then this is what it looked like when we moved into the house:
Not very inspiring or personalized for us but we had a blank slate to work with.
We worked on this over the course of a few years (kept a strict budget and we are also working on other projects) with a lot of detailed planning but we finally got it to a good stopping point recently and took a few pictures this weekend. I'm excited to share them with the CD Home Interior forums here!
You have done a very nice job. I like the way you trimmed out the opening above the mantel, and made it work for you. I like the white trim popping against the accent wall. In spite of the more traditional trim, you have furnished in in mid-century style, and everything totally works. I also love the warmth of the wooden floors. Very nice job. I don't blame you for wanting to share.
