We are seeing Walnut being now offered even in medium priced cabinets. What do you think? Is Walnut here to stay.

I love walnut; always have and I am glad to see it coming back. I think it looks great in streamlined framless type cabinetry. Is it here to stay? For the general public/trendiness I'm sure it will wax and then wane again just as everything does. It has been and stayed fairly popular in modern design though and I think that will continue.

Walnut

Color: medium to dark
Grain: fine (much prettier than crappy oak)

Dave,

That's what I'm saying it has become very affordable. I have a line that is a middle price point cabinet that now offers Walnut.

I don't care what the trend or fad or style is. I don't care what HGTV tries to push.

I finally got my Kraftmaid "Black Onyx Bead board" cabinets. I love them, they are stunning and fit the look I was trying to create. It is my home, I am living here and that's all that matters. I am also never moving, and I don't give a crap about resale anyway.

When you get something you like and not what the current trend is, you will not get tired of it as fast.

I am actually sick of the "glass tile" back splashes already, and SS appliances can suck an egg..............yawn!!

When I was younger I did not like dark cabinets at all. Now that I'm a bit older I have come to appreciate the darker woods. I don't like muddy stains. I like natural woods or stains that are not muddy that let the richness of the wood come through.
