I am looking to purchase blinds for two windows which are about 80 inches wide. I just want simple pvc style blinds to block out the sunlight and to give me privacy. I purchased a 72 inch pvc blind in home depot for the smaller window and it was only twenty bucks and fits perfectly...unfortunately the next size is 96 inches and pac can't be cut to size.....I priced custom blinds but they are really expensive and really won't add value to my house. I just want simple blinds that will rest on hooks...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

why are all issues and repairs with a home so complicated these days?...i don't recall my grandmothers having such issues with little things..

Did you try blinds.com - they will custom cut blinds and their house brand is inexpensive. Also they are having a 20% off sale this month.

An 80 inch wide blind would be very heavy. I'm surprised you could even find a 72 inch for that reason.

How about two 40 inchers?

Because your grandmother would not want to deal with the heaviness of an 80 inch blind!

Wow...that is a huge window!!! I've been looking around for you - and I've found this: http://www.stevesblindsandwallpaper....h=80&height=64

I bought some wallpaper border here a few years ago and their customer service was pretty good as I recall. This is still probably more than you want to pay - but still cheaper than anything else I saw - at that size. Not sure what size slats you wanted, or color etc. - you could tweak it and come up with that.

The only other think I can think of would possibly be those bamboo or matchstick shades that you can buy fairly cheaply. I've seen them at Walmart and some of the big box stores - I think they come in wood tones and in white/off whites, and you can find some larger sizes. Probably not as heavy as the vinyl or aluminum would be and although not black-out, they would give you some privacy and block the sun. I've seen them in sunrooms and on porches also.

Are your measurements for an inside mount or an outside mount? Just a couple of inches makes all the difference in finding a blind ready made that would fit and not have to be custom made for you (and cheaper). Our grandmas wouldn't have paid that kind of price either - I'm pretty sure mine would have probably bought some flat sheets and made some plain curtains and thrown up a curtain rod - instant privacy!!!

Good luck - hope you find something!

I wouldn't want to deal with a blind that long and heavy. I had a 60 inch blind which spent most of the time pulled up.........I hated it.

Try Blinds, Shades, Curtains & Shutters | Smith & Noble Window Treatments - my daughter was very happy with them.

For a window that big you should split them in half or thirds.

Try selectblinds.com. I bought some from there some years back and could customize both the length and width.

If there is just one opening, how would you hang two or three separate blinds?
