I'm a big DIY guy. We have very light tile in our laundry room I'd like to make darker. Since its the laundry room I don't have much interest in spending the time and money in ripping everything up to put down darker tile floors. They are your standard 18"x18" square tiles that I'm 99% sure are vinyl made to look like real stoen. I rubbed a little minwax gel stain red mahogany on a hidden tile and it seems to be holding very well (Don't like the color just testing). I was thinking I could maybe go with a Minwax ebony gel stain, let it dry for 2 days then go over it with Rejuvenate floor coating to seal it.

Was wondering if anyone has done anything like this, or has a better tested method.

I have heard of painting tile. I found a link for you. The method I've heard of involve epoxy paint. There might be better coatings on the market for this now.

I believe you would paint the grout as well.

I would do thorough research before embarking on this project.

Good luck!
