10 months ago we had Lowes install some Pergo Max laminate flooring in our halls, living room and kitchen. The flooring was cheaper than normal because that color was being discontinued.

Contractors came in and said some areas were not level and we paid $425 to Lowes to have floor leveled. My guess is maybe 20% of the floor got leveling treatment.

We used really good underlayment, and paid to have them move the furniture.

At first everything was great, but 10 months later the floor creaks as we walk over it in a lot of places. At least 10.

Debating whether this is something to go back to Lowes for. I think it had a one year guarantee.

Absolutely. Why would you not?

Bring it up to Lowe's. Laminate is not supposed to creak if everything's done right.

No you didn't.
You had the hungriest low price bidder willing to work for Lowes.

It's worth getting educated for.

Bring in another flooring contractor and ask for their opinion on the job.

OK, I think I'll go back to Lowes and talk to them. Thanks everyone.

Did Lowe's take care of your problem?

No. They made an attempt to get the floor vendor to do something, but it was a batlle of attrition and the floor vendor won. I gave up.

Was this Pergo Outlast? I had it installed by the Home Depot contractor Western States Flooring, last July. After a few months the floor shifted and I had gaps between the walls and the flooring. I would never recommend this Pergo. The installers said it was so new and they had very little experience with it. But my installer was very helpful and paid to have shoe molding put down in the gaps. The floor is still "moving" in places but it isn't too noticeable.
