I always take my tree down the day after Christmas. Much longer and it starts to bug me reminding me of my procrastinating tendencies. But that’s just me.
I know a woman who keeps a tree up all year round changing the decorations with the holidays - Valentines, St. Pats, Easter, 4th of July and so on.
A friend of mine once kept her tree up and decorated it for Valentines, St.Pats and Easter just because one of her cats loved to sleep under the tree.
Once her cat lost interest {warmer weather + summer room} the tree came down.

i do 2 trees. In the living room we have a big tree with all the family, homemade and heirloom ornaments. The presents go there. In the dining room we do a tall skinny themed tree which i decorate and coordinate the rest of the house around it. Last year was buffalo check, red black and wood accents. It was beautiful. This year i was planning to do Harry Potter because our whole family enjoys it but my husband just lost his job, so probably only 1 tree this year. Not much in the mood for Christmas.
I do two or three trees per year. One is small, and real. One is big - and sometimes to be honest, I don't put it up. And one is a tall skinny tree which I really love (it's fake
The big one - I only put it up if I'm hosting Christmas. It's sort of mismatched but it has all the family decorations from generations on it. It's got multicolored lights
The small one is all vintage glass blown ornaments - most from the 1940s through 1960s. I love it. Super colorful. I always use multicolored lights on it.
The tall, skinny fake tree is a favorite of mine because it is all color coordinated and I have collected these ornaments over the past few years. It's my "musical" tree. It's all in moss green, rich brown, white, and gold. It's got musical instruments and musical notes, and birds, all through it. I always put it in the front window and it has white lights.
We just had our Christmas lights strung on the house this evening, and they look great. We went with multicolor lights and they make me happy! Our neighborhood is a mix of white lights, two tones, and a few multicolor. I'd say that probably 1/3 of the houses already have their lights up.
Your tree sounds like it is lovely or will be lovely but my husband and I choose not to do trees or any decorating due to the fact that we both had crappy childhoods and Christmases with his dad being drunk to the gills every Christmas and turning over the tree and breaking things and his mother crying and staying in her bedroom until Christmas was over .To my mother going through our presents from our grandparents and seeing which ones she was going to take back and pocket the money . According to her we needed underwear and socks more than some stupid new dolls the old ones were good enough . This was until my grandmother started cluing in on what she was doing and she started passing us money instead which we promptly hid under a floorboard in our house . She never found it thank God . Yep merry Christmas . I like looking at other peoples trees though I find joy in that and it is cheaper LOL .
I think the OP’s tree idea sounds lovely. We bought our tree shortly before Christmas, a few weeks after our furniture was moved in to this house 7 years ago. We did not have a great selection to choose from. It is an OK tree, but it does not have enough lights to suit me. DH and I spend a couple of hours winding blue lights through the lower part of the tree every year.
The top 25% of the tree is decorated with cardinals. I bought various cardinal ornaments for several years. They look amazing clustered atop the tree. I put a cardinal right at the top of the tree.
I have many, many ornaments gathered and saved over many years. These go on the tree below the cardinals. My tree is very full of ornaments and lights. Even though it is an ordinary tree, the lights and ornaments make it beautiful for one month a year,
I love cardinals! They are so emblematic of winter. It's a lovely motif for a "winter tree" although I know that isn't what you are going for.
Hopefully silibran will take a picture of her tree. I will post a couple of ours.
We put up a few (five) trees so far this year... mostly little ones.
Two little ones I have done all in birds and nature-themed ornaments too! Red and white birds and a few natural ones.
One little one I did with a collection of tiny bird house ornaments I have.
Both go with the nature theme of our decor in our living room.
We put up one bigger tree that has mostly red and gold and silver ornaments, plus several keepsake type ornaments.
Oh and one I'm calling our tacky tree with the gaudier lights.
This is the first year for these artificial trees. I have never done it this way before, but I liked that these were small and fairly narrow in their footprint, so didn't take up a lot of floor space like a real tree would have.
I actually ordered some ornaments today. This is so unusual for me. I'm feeling positively festive. Now I have to start thinking of holiday meal plans (already stressing about that).
