Why not check out the website www.ikea.com ?

Ikea has great prices, and some of the furniture is excellent. We have Ikea stuff in every room of our house.

I LOVE Idea! My wife and I practically take a road trip to go there almost once a week. We're not into a lot of their more modern looking stuff... but we usually find something we really like for a very good price. We furnished our living room and dining room with tables (everything but the couch) for only about $1,000. (dining room table, 6 chairs, china cabnet, end tables, entertainment center...)

A lot of their stuff is cheap but decent quality. Ikea helped me furnish my apartment when I came out of college broke! Their website kind of stinks, but if you can get your paws on their catalog you will see how much they have.

Go on the site, request a catalog, visit the store armed with lots of time and good meassurements, do not expect Ethan Allen. You cannot beat their book shelves:>)

For those of you in South Florida - Ikea is building a store at Sawgrass - can hardly wait.

Yeah, about the time issue... you NEED at least 2 hours... and that is if you know exactly what you're getting beforehand. If you expect to look around at the displays, and such, set aside 4 hours. (especially if it's your first trip). Stop by for breakfast, they have eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns for 99 cents until 10 or 11... And their lunch/dinner selections are good too.

If you can, go on a weeknight, especially a Monday night. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are a madhouse! Also, wait a few weeks to a month after they open.

I love Ikea! We redid our old kitchen with their cabinets about a year ago. Not the best quality cabinets ever, but they looked sharp and were a great price for our low-end townhome (they kind of place where granite would be way overimproving for the comps).

Since rubytue brought up IKEA kitchens. Has anyone else installed a kitchen using IKEA cabinets? How do they hold up? Would you recommend them?
