I was thinking the same thing as Molly. It might look silly have light wood floors and very dark wood in the bedroom. It will disrupt the flow. It may even look like you only replaced some of the wood in the house but skipped the bedroom. Same thing goes for people who have different color carpet in the bedrooms. It might be better to keep the bedroom the same wood as the rest of the house but to buy a large dark area rug for under the bed.

I see what you're saying. Our rug is dark chocolate...like the furniture, which the lighter colors making up the decoration...so I'm hoping it will look ok. If not, then I guess we'll just have to buy a different rug!

Well there really won't be much of a flow, as the bedroom isn't right off the living room anyway, so it's seperated...but that's a good point. I'll have to check into that some more...and I already promised it to him!
