My whole house has very heavily stippled ceilings. We will probably sand down a few of the small, isolated rooms, but for the larger areas we don't want to tackle it right now.
What do you think about painting the offending ceilings a pale version of the walls, in hopes of making them disappear? They have been painted in what looks like a white eggshell paint, so that the slight shininess makes them even more obvious. To me, they look like blobs of Marshmallow Fluff.
I'm thinking flat finish and colored paint will look better? There are a lot of tray ceilings in the house, so they aren't just flat.

if I was already messing with the ceilings, I'd go ahead and scrape them down before painting.
