I have replaced the cable that has run from the transmission to the shifter box twice, thinking the first one was bad, has not helped.
Here is the general problem... Sometimes it starts other times it will not. When I go to place the car in park the D4 light will come on or when I go to start it, it comes on and the car will not start since it thinks it is in gear still. I can wait five mins sometimes and it will start up, other times days. I have replaced the neutral safety switch in the shift lever with no change in issues.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what the issue could be? I am running out of ideas.
The other thing it will do is while starting the D4 light will start flashing again and then I need to shift the car all the way through the automatic gears to get enough power to get the car up to speed.
Other than this, it runs great, just have to get it started.
