I have an upright Maytag that is about 15 years old, coated stainless basket, never had a problem. When the machine is filling, about 1/2 cup of water dribbles out the front of the bottom left side of the machine. Repeats with the rinse cycle. The spray from the filling water is not overshooting the basket. The machine doesn't leak while agitating or spinning. What would you guess is happening? I wonder with the age of the machine if something has simply rusted through. Thanks for any ideas.
That's what I would guess too, although there isn't a drop of water on the back of the washer where the hoses enter, or any on the floor behind the washer.
i work on appliances for a living and im familiar with this problem...remove the frt panel(2 screws at bottom of panel),once frt panel is removed remove 2 bolts holding down the top(under top at front on each side)lift top up and on the left side youll see a hose with a plastic connector.inside the plastic piece is a rubber duckbill hose diverter...THIS IS WHERE YOUR LEAK IS FROM.... you can usually remove the duckbill and reinstall it and it wont leak.sometimes you have to replace the duckbill. over time the water flowing thru the plastic piece pulls the duckbill in too far and its not sealed around the edge causing a leak..good luck and once you see that duck bill you know it not on right
f.y.i ....once you have the top up,turn the washer on to fill it and youll see for yourself how its leaking
