Depends on my mood: dining room table, kitchen table, coffee table ...

Dining rooms and formal living rooms are useless, unused rooms for 95% of Americans. Most eat maybe five meals a year in the FDR and, if there isn't plastic on the couches, sit in the FMR maybe six hours a year (or about as much time as they use their built in backyard pools).

Our FDR is the kids' homework room. It has a laptop and a globe and a pencil sharpner, etc. in it.

Our LR is my wife's and my computer room with our desks and computers.

We eat in our kitchen where the big table and chairs are - if we all eat together - which is rare with everyone having vastly different schedules.

If I eat alone, it is in front of my computer.

On the couch most likely. Or occasionally by the TV (which is a different room) watching something on video. Just two of us.

The kitchen is somewhat open in this house but what could be considered the kitchen officially is small and has no eating area. The dining "room" is more a continuation of the living room than the kitchen in this config. It's a mishmash though, floor covering is continuation of living room, wall covering is continuation of kitchen. Heh. Anyway, we've since reversed it to have sitting furniture in the dining area, so we can sit and look out the sliding glass door which faces the back yard. We do still have a dining height table, now placed at the front of the house in the larger living room area, but we don't sit there to eat often.

We have an open floor plan and there is a dining area (sits 6) adjacent to the great room, but we rarely use it and nver for just the two of us. Our kitchen has a small table with two chairs. Most meals get eaten at this small table. We also eat takeout, casual meals on a screen porch when the weather is nice.

Have not used TV tables for years.

Wherever my laptop is, lol. Right now it sits on the kitchen table. In FL it was at the kitchen Island. My hubby always likes to eat while watching TV in his recliner or a couch...again depending on the house we are in. In the motorhome I use the 2 front chars with my legs across. The laptop on my knees and my plate on my thighs

My favorite is sitting outside when the weather is nice with no distractions other than nature

We have a Kitchen Table and Formal Dining room, but most of our meals end up being in front of the TV. Mostly for convenience. On the few occasions we eat at the kitchen table, we have to listen to our parrot complain were not in the room with her. The Formal dining room is reserved for special occasions like Thanksgiving.

All over. It depends on what is going on. Locations include:

Dining room.
Kitchen island.
Kitchen nook.
Master bedroom.
Library.
Back Parlor.
Front Porch.
Pool Deck.
Basement game room.
Carport. (used as a covered patio in nice weather)
In my car.

Oh and sometimes my wife brings me breakfast while I am taking a shower and I eat in the bathroom.

The DH and I eat the majority of our meals on the lanai overlooking my flower gardens. It's really quite lovely.

IT SOUNDS NICE !! I love nature.

We have an an apartment in the city but our kitchen is large so we eat there, and I look at my flowers I have on the window ledge outside my kitchen window, and watch the clothes blow back and forth on the clothesline, and past that I see the next building in the distance.
