Hi all, really hope someone can help me. I have a poured concrete basement. I had a few spots that leaked but had a contractor come out and use injections to fill the cracks and they have worked great. I still have one area that is driving me crazy. At the one far end of the basement, where the wall meets the ceiling, some water will occasionally come in through a few cracks. I believe what is happening is that water is coming from outside and going underneath (or possibly through) a huge concrete patio up above. I had the land regarded recently which seemed to help a bit, but in really long severe rainstorms I will see some leakage. Would love to hear what options I have that I can do inside as well as what I could do outside so that water won't go under the patio and drain in. Thanks in advance!
Thanks to both of you for responding.
The patio goes out from the house at least 12 feet and width of the 2 slabs (I think there are two) is probably a combined total of 45 feet. I say 2 because there is a split in the middle that has a bit of cocking in the middle. The land grading was done last year and the basement seemed to actually leak more when the grading was low in previous years.
One idea that has been tossed around was to put French drains on either side of the patio. Love to hear what people think.
I read the situation a couple times and I am not sure I understand but I did wonder if the house has a gutter system that is taking away all the water that it can and away from the house.

Hi thanks for writing. No my house does not have a gutter system.
I did mention to the guy that did the grading (also builds house etc) about the slitting of the patio near the house. His concern was that there might possibly be a steel support under the patio and he could possibly damage it. I think that is why he suggested first the grading and now the French drains. I will check it out with the level
