Cuddledown sounds great but it doesn't seem to have that many options in white. I ended up getting a peacock alley, 450 TC, Egyptian cotton set from Tuesday Morning.
It looks very sturdy and high quality but the finish is not as silky as I was hoping, probably because it is percale and not sateen.
If anyone has had any experience with "peacock alley", I would be interested in hearing more.
I do plan on getting a duvet cover from Ikea for my daughter.
Sateen sucks. It doesn't breath. There are threads arguing about it, but that's my opinion.
Stick with a regular Egyptian with a high thread count. It will get softer as you wash it---and last longer too.
That sounds encouraging. This us why I opted for percale, BC I'd heard sateen can be poorly constructed though I do like how it feels.
This duvet cover from pwacock alley looks very solidly made so i'm done with the search.
:-)
It will be a nightmare when we have to pick a mattress -which has been due to be changed for
ages now. I heard it's a terribly annoying process.
