You have to allow for air flow and humidity range as well.

eg: Absent high humidity and with some gentle breezes...
most will have higher summer time temp tolerance.

As regards the windows closed and all buttoned up Heat & AC seasons...
Heating set back T-stat default is 68F (65F overnight and while away at work)
AC set back T-stat default is 72F (75F overnight and while away at work)

I'd die in that heat in the winter

66-68 in the winter..66 during the day, 68 in the morning when people are just getting out of bed, 61 overnight.

In the summer, about 70-72, but turn it down to about 68 over night..I like it cool when I sleep.

78 in the summer
67 in the winter

I'm not sure those settings reflect the actual temperatures in the house, but lower in the summer is too cold and higher in the winter is too hot.

Winter: 68 degrees

Summer: 80 degrees (I am not a huge fan of A/C, but I keep it on due to high humidity)

I just want to know. Is 68-72 F the recommended setting for a house year round. To be honest, I find 72 F a bit too cool during the summer. I like my room temperature closer to 75 F from June to September. During extreme heat waves (95+ F up here), I set it a bit higher to reduce the energy used by my A/C.

Summer (hot humid ones here), we do 65 at night just before bedtime and 78 during the day. We can't sleep unless it's cool.

Winter/Fall-the heat is set on 60 during the day and 62 at night. (We have most of our huge windows facing the south so it never gets colder than 65 during the day here, just at night it gets chilly)
