How I clean it: I put a bowl of water with either vinegar or lemon juice inside and set it to incinerate. I take the turntable out and wash that by hand.
Once the liquid has boiled and steamed for several minutes, everything inside the microwave is softened up and I scrub and wipe it down until it's sparkly-clean.

This is what I do. If I have an old drying lemon in the fridge, I cut it up and toss it into the water while it cooks, then sprinkle salt on the slices and use them to scrub down the sides of the microwave. It works like a dream. I don't like to use harsh chemicals to clean something that I'm going to cook my food in. I watched my Bubbie do this when I was a kid and it's the best way to clean a microwave that I've ever found.
