No water on the hot water side (heater, sink, gas)

my water runs out on the hot water side it has water for about a minute then it starts running out. anyone have any idea what would be causing this. if i leave it alone for a while then it has water again but runs out again

Right now, we can't even get an answer on the type of water heater.......

If your not going to give anymore information, then check the valve underneath that sink.
