Wow, I'm assuming that is either a bunch of childhood moves with the family or just a bunch of rentals, otherwise you know a heck of a lot about serial buying and selling houses.

the first 25 years I lived with in the house my parents own. The 4 year one is the only house I owned. I started moving a lot when i was 25.
My wife's career pursuits will keep us moving for at least the next 4 years. there isn't anywhere that home prices appreciate fast enough to justify buying and selling costs with how we move.
We have owned 10 residences including our present condo. That was in 4 states. There were also a few rentals along the way. I did not include the house that I grew up in, that was my parents house.
Been in first home 11 years now. Wanted to sell 5 years ago. Still barely under water. We decided to stay til it's paid off and keep it as a rental. It's been low maintenance in a low maintenance area.
Well, we got married and then later that same year bought a house and lived in it for ten years. Then we bought another house in town and things were just jolly for four years and then my DH got loose online and bought a "rental" house. BUT, it wasn't good enough to rent so we rented out the nice house we'd been living in and moved over to a house we will be renovating. Sigh! It is in a nicer location, though, so eventually it will probably be nicer than where we were.
So, it's been ten years, four years and then since last October. Once this house is fixed up, hopefully we will stay here, I hate moving my garden.
At the time this starter house was all I could afford. Later, as I made more money and could afford a much larger house in a much nicer neighborhood, I realized that this place was exactly what I wanted and I saw no reason to get another house. So I spent my money remodeling it instead. Most of my neighbors have moved over the years but my next-door neighbors are the same. Who else can say they've had the same next-door neighbors, and good friends, for 35 years?

Wow, there's not many of us! Though the most recent family to move in to our neighborhood was 18 years ago. Two of the houses in our block are now occupied by the children who grew up in those homes, their parents having passed on. My best friend is my neighbor who lives across the street, and she moved in a year after we did, so we've been buddies for 38 years.
Smart to invest your money in your favorite house instead of moving up to something you didn't need.
