Well that is your option. Dont make it harder on yourself and take years off your life. Simply paint it and move on.

Typically suing construction folks only ends up in them declaring bankruptcy and leaving you with the legal bills.

Actually I think we are going to paint it with a acrylic finish coat (a bit stronger than elastomeric paint) if we can probe it to make sure there is not a whole lot of water in the wall. We know they have done it wrong - it's not done to code, not even close. So if the water in the walls is normal - then we can have it sealed and forget it. Making it look better is easy.

If there is excessive water in the walls, then we have a problem. We can make it look good all we want, but the problem is structural. Then we have to pull it all off and have it done correctly. These construction people are all insured (they gave proof before any work was done), but insurance company lawyers will fight for every penny. It's definitely not worth it. The thing is that you can only sue for your current damages - and I don't want to wait until the walls leak inside, and even if you win - you don't get your legal fees reimbursed. Only the lawyers make out fine. We lose. It's like I say, home ownership is overrated. Especially around here. It's just annoying that there is no way to get any fair treatment from construction people.
