Just looking for a few price ranges, as to what to expect.
I'm in a high cost of living major metro area…
How much to do you think these INDIVIDUAL jobs should cost?
1) sand and repaint peeling paint on two spots of vinyl window frame and one window sill
2) replace window screens on four windows
3) stretch carpet in one room
4) replace a faucet (and MAYBE a toilet fill valve). The faucet is definitely getting switched out. But my plumber put in a toilet fill valve that was slightly too tall for the tank. I've lived with it for years, and solved the problem by just putting small peel-and-stick velvet pads under the corners of the tank top just to raise the top -- a quarter of an inch -- to keep the top from touching the top of the valve -- and that was enough to resolve the issue.
But I'm selling the house and I'm undecided about whether I should switch out something that may not even be noticed. There's no leak anywhere -- and I'm always hesitant that what's not leaking now could leak afterward, and I've created a problem that didn't exist. Can that valve TUBE be cut from the TOP, and the top of the valve be put back on. I really don't want the tank taken apart at the bottom of the valve.)
I'm NOT hiring one handyman service to do it all. I've got my go to carpet company and plumber -- and a new handyman I may give the painting job to (IF he ever calls me backL
) but I was online and just thought I'd post here to get some idea of what others have paid for these kinds of small jobs.
Thanks for the help.
