I replaced the lightbulb in our scullery with an LED. The switch is a motion sensor. The light stays dimly lit all the time if it is in sensor mode.

Is this wiring a issue, or do motion sensors "leak" low level power even when off (enough to dimly power an LED)? I have encountered situations where power stays on even when a switch is off, but other than a switched neutral in one instance, I cannot remember what it was (dimmer maybe? motion sensor?). This is not a switched neutral.

Sounds like a faulty sensor or just simply a terrible light.

You have to use a compatible sensor with LED bulbs. The older ones don't play nice with the new technology.

Switch/sensor is not LED compatible.
