All of a sudden all of the outlets and the wall switch have no power in my bedroom and one outlet in the adjoining bedroom. I checked the breaker which supplies the power and it is operating correctly. I removed all the wall outlets and the light switch and there isn't any power going to them. I removed the corresponding breaker and replaced it, still nothing. I attempted to trace the wires from the fuse panel but they immediately run up through the floor. How should I handle this problem and where should I start?

I had a similar problem once, I bought a wire tracer from harbor freight for $20. Sure they sell mostly crap, but good enough for the one job I needed it for.

Start by check to see if your breaker labeling is correct.

Maybe you have a GFCI outlet tripped somewhere. A single GFCI outlet can have other normal outlets wired downstream of it so that they receive the same ground fault protection.

That happened to me once. I had an outlet where I plugged something in and it would turn off and I would have to reset it. The third time it blew out and would not reset and half of the house had the power out, once I replaced that outlet everything worked again.

My guess it is the GFI for the bathroom that lost power.

If it is literally half the house without power, you might have lost one pole, which would be the job of the power company to sort out.
