At our former house, when our kids were little, we used them constantly. Especially once the older girls were too old to be taking baths in the same tub with the boys.

It was great when we could stick three or four of them in the tub together let them play for an hour and the rinse them off. However once they needed to bathe separately, it was a huge PIA. We were glad when they started taking showers. Far as I can remember, once they started taking showers on their own, none of them ever showed any desire to take a bath again. But by that time, we had a pool, so they could do their soaking there.

We have 3 tubs in our house. We have a BIG one in the master bath that is made out of cast iron-was original when they put plumbing in the house. I tried it and felt like I was drowning in it because it was so big-but for 2 people.... We have a fiberglass tub in the downstairs bathroom that we just use for showers. (It was probably installed in the '80s or '90s). And we have a small antique cast iron clawfoot tub (again, probably was original when they put in plumbing). I use this EVERYDAY! It is the perfect size for me. (Too small for Hubby.) It does have a shower on it but we don't use it for showers. It is MY tub since I am pretty much the only one who uses it. Sometimes the grandkids will use it when they are visiting but that is about it.

Just think, folks (especially the ones who are so worried about dead skin cells), how long you're wallowing in dead skin cells in the bed every night.

And inside your clothes all day.

A giant frosted window overlooks our rectangular soaking tub so the tub's perfect for parking house plants while we travel, which we do frequently.
Other than that, it's useless but quite attractive. I kinda like the idea that if I ever DO want to take a bath, it's there. With a small flat-screen tv that I've only ever turned on to see if it works.

Love, love my large walk-in shower.

Never. It is a huge waste if water and then when I finish I need a shower to really get clean.

It's only a waste of water if you think it is. For some people, a luxurious experience in a big soaking tub is not a waste at all.

Yeah but I don't live in a place like that nor does any of the water in this area go to places like that. So...well, I'm good.

My mom used to tell me to eat all my Brussel sprouts because kids were starving in China. Hard to see the correlation.
