Concerned about the water quality where we live, I bought a Brita pitcher a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that we were drinking bottled.

To me, the Brita water tastes and smells funny. I tried using it only for brewing coffee, but the coffee smells and tastes terrible. The cats don't seem to mind. They drink it. Hubby drinks it too.

By filtering the water and then immediately pouring it into a plastic jug, rather than leaving it soaking in the pitcher's filter, doesn't help.

I've never tried Pur. I bought the Brita because it had the cheapest filters. Now I'm wishing I hadn't purchased it at all. I'm going back to drinking the bottled water I buy at the $$$ store.
