Sounds like a one way deadbolt. take off the 2 screws that hold the bolt on-edge of the door. look down inside the bolt there may be set screws down inside it.If so,they will require a very small allen wrench on either side of the bolt to remove the lock.
I had one like that. The brass collar could be unscrewed, but I still could see no wayto get it off. I finally found the answer int he form of my heavy duty Bosh demolition saw with a metal cutting blade. I just cut the thing to pieces and eventually it came out. Just be careful not to cut the door.
I had a friend who is a contractor look at it first and he fiddled with it for a while and then told me that a new door does to cost very much.
