The bathroom in the house we recently bought is all granite (walls, floors, countertops). All of the granite is the same, but on the walls & countertops it is so much shinier than on the floors. Is there any way to restore the shine to the floors? Thanks!

Oh, so the dullness just means it needs to be resealed? Sealing it will make it shiny again? I had no idea!!

It also depends if it was originally polished to be shiny?? Usually you don't want as shiny a surface on floor tiles (especially in a bathroom) because when they get wet - they will be SUPER SLIPPERY.

That's why you'll see different textures of the same material. Walls you can have shiny because you're not standing on them, same as counters.

You see this a lot in Showers - same material all over, but one texture for the floors and absolutely smooth (and shiny!) on the walls.

Good luck! DOn't slip!

I know saltillo sealer will bring a shine to it. However, as the poster above stated, it might make it more "slippery when wet".

Then you'd need some sort of abrasive powder to maintain friction.

My friend had this problem in her foyer and bathroom that had a marble floor. After many years it had become dull and scratched. They found a co in the phone book to come for an estimate. He came and said he would come and buff it, or something like that. I can't remember exactly what it was called. It turned out beautifully. They also had him do their bathroom which was marble as well. After he was finished it looked like a brand new floor.

I would look in your phone book under floor refinishing or buffing and I'm sure you will find someone who will do it.
