Does anyone have a funky, unexpected floor in their laundry room? We are thinking about putting in a red floor or maybe a black/white checkerboard floor to make the room a little more fun & cheery. It has gray vinyl floors right now that are so depressing. Any ideas? Pictures would be great!

I just have plain old vinyl flooring, but I wouldn't do the red in my opinion...just in case you had to move or something...I LOVE the black and white idea though...nice, modern look but still neutral enough for homebuyers.
Good luck whatever you do-it is afterall your house!

Maybe black & white checkerboard tiles with yellow walls? Hmmmm...that would certainly be cheery!

I like monkeygorilla's idea if that's the direction you're heading. I have hardwood that continues out into the rest of the house. I would do stone also but tile grout will look dirty in a laundry room unless it's a dark color. Laundry rooms are being treated more and more like a living space now and if you make it as nice as a bathroom or kitchen, doing laundry and ironing, etc will be more tolerable and the room will be enjoyable to your eyes and help distract you from the work aspect. Put a TV or a music system in too if you're in there alot.
