It all depends on you. We do 59-63 during the winter, but that is only because of the wife. I could do mid-50s and be OK.

I wouldn't call it skimping on heat not to keep the house warm enough in winter to wear clothes meant for summer. Anything higher than 70 on the heat and I become very uncomfortable - the forced air heat dries out my skin, eyes, and nose, causing me to sneeze.

My heat is set at 60 when I’m not home and 65 when I am home. If I get chilly, I put on a heavier sweater.

At night, the heat is set at 60. I sleep better breathing cooler air, but also like to be cozy warm. I turn on my electric blanket to warm up the bed, then turn it off once I’m in there.

In the summer, the AC is off when I’m gone and set around 75 or 78 when I’m home. Even then, I might turn it off.

Set to 63 overnight warm to 65 in the morning. Works OK but wish I had it set a bit warmer.

I keep mine at 63 in the winter. Plenty comfortable in a sweatshirt, I don't need to wear shorts around the house in January. I think I keep it at 74 in the summer.

Mine is on 72. I insist on being maximally comfortable at home, which means I can go shirtless, barefooted, and wear shorts inside. As Granny says, “I work too hard to have to bundle up in my own home; turn that heat up to 79!”

Yes it is efficient and makes a big difference - I keep at 68F during day/night (when we're home) and 59F at night

LOL.....I used to keep a set of shorts and a tank top at my Dad's house for the same reason, especially since when visiting an elderly parent you never know when you will end up doing some unplanned chore that will heat you up even more. {For that reason I kept a comfy old pair of tennis shoes at his house too.}
